Testing integration with Apple Pay

After registering the Apple Pay Merchant ID and creating a certificate for it on the test payment gateway, you can start testing.

Below there is a short list of actions that will allow you to test Apple Pay. Further details are available in documentation on the Apple website.

Preparation for work

To test the work of Apple Pay in a test environment, you will need:

  • iPhone 6 or later;
  • iPad mini 3 or later;
  • iPad Air 2;
  • iPad Pro;
  • Apple Watch.

And also a test account in iTunes Connect.

Creation of a test account

To create a test account, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the iTunes Connect website.
  2. On the home page, click Users and Roles.
  3. Click on Sandbox Testers.
  4. Click on «+»to create a test account.
  5. Enter the required information about the test account, then click Save.
  6. Log out of your Apple ID on all test devices, then log in using your test account.

If you mistakenly use a test account on a test device to log in to a production environment (such as iTunes) instead of logging in to a test environment, this test account will become invalid and cannot be used again. In this case create a new test account with a new email address.

Addition of a test bank card number

To add a test bank card number, follow these steps.

  1. Log out of iCloud, then log in to your test device using your test account.
  2. Open the Wallet App and select Add Credit or Debit Card.
  3. Complete the procedure for adding a card using the test credentials and the test bank card number (see below).
